”What excites me most about my work is its truly multidisciplinary nature — I get to witness future solutions at a very early stage. I enjoy immersing myself in new ideas and working closely with passionate inventors to refine and advance their innovations. I also believe that understanding client’s business is crucial in IP attorney work. Helping clients navigate complex IP challenges, from shaping an optimal strategy for protecting their product development investments to unlocking the full value of their IPR portfolio, is both very inspiring and rewarding."

Jouni joined Laine IP in 2016 as European Patent Attorney on the ICT & mechanics team. He helps his clients to turn ideas into valuable, protected assets — combining deep technical insight with a sharp understanding of business goals. With over 25 years in patents, both in private practice and industry, he counsels clients from early-stage concepts to robust IPR portfolios that deliver real business impact. On May 1, 2022 he became Laine IP´s Managing Director.

Jouni holds a MSc degree in electrical engineering. He is a member of SPAY, FICPI, EPI and and The Finnish Association for Industrial Property Rights.
